Someone Thought of You

Hands holding a Penn + Olive roller in morning window light

You're holding something made by hand, in small batches, by one person. Me.

Here's what it is and what to do with it.

Rolling the oil onto a wrist

How to use it

Roll it on your wrists, your neck, or your temples. Rub them together. Breathe in.

That's it. Thirty seconds. You don't need an hour, or a routine, or to be someone who's good at self-care. You need thirty seconds and the willingness to actually take them.

Here's when I reach for each one:

  • Calm: any time of day I want to feel more relaxed
  • Awaken: first thing in the morning
  • Focus: before work or a big project
  • Relief: on tight, stressed muscles
  • Roots: when I need to feel grounded
  • Sleep: right before bed
  • Monthly: once a month, during my cycle
  • Immunity: on my throat when I feel a tickle coming on

Close-up of a Penn + Olive Calm roller label

What's actually in it

Organic sunflower oil and essential oils. That's the list.

No fillers, no synthetic fragrance, and no ingredient just called "fragrance" quietly standing in for thirty other things.

If there's a word on one of my labels you can't pronounce, it's because it's a plant with a Latin name, not because it's a chemical.

Ashley pouring oil into a bottle by hand

Who made this

Hi, I'm Ashley.

I've been making these for years, mostly in the margins of my life. A couple of years ago I almost stopped. I'd had a baby, I had no time, it wasn't making money, and letting it go felt like the responsible thing to do.

Then a friend who was getting married asked me to make her a blend. I sat down to do it and I remembered. Not the business part. The part where you make something for someone and it actually helps.

So here we still are. Every bottle still poured by me, in small batches, one at a time.

Or just start with whichever one smells best to you. That is a completely legitimate way to choose, and it's how most people find their favorite.

And if you do end up using the one you were given, I'd love to know when. Which moment of your day you reach for it. That's my favorite thing to hear.
